Workshops
I offer felt making workshops at a number of venues around Boston. This Fall I am scheduled to teach at Bead and Fiber and at the Worcester Art Musem. In the class, I focus on teaching you to design with wool and silk and to make good decisions that will result in a beautiful finished product.
Here are the classes that are currently scheduled for the August through November 2010. Watch this space, there will be more to come!

Bead and Fiber

Tuesday, 9 November; 6-9:30pm $100.00
Students will learn how to create a beautiful 'Nuno Felt' (Nuno means fabric in Japanese). By manipulating a minimum amount of wool fiber through silk fabric you will make a felted fabric with characteristics quite different from traditional felt. Nuno felt is a laminate of silk and wool so it is lightweight, drapes beautifully on your body and is flexibile. There are many possibilities for transparency, exciting texture, conglomerate layering of materials with diverse characteristics, and thus great multiple dimensions. Students will create a lightweight three season scarf during class. Please be prepared to get wet and to use your arms. Since we are standing for the entire class, wear comfortable shoes!
