Hot Felt Fashion For Cold Winter Days

Hi!  Welcome to B. Felt: I create handmade "art to wear" from a combination of wool and silk, decorated with seed and glass beads. Each piece of handmade felt jewelry, hat, wool scarf, nuno felt shawl, wool felt handbag or pair of slippers is a one of a kind piece of wearable art.  I hope you enjoy the site, find something that inspires you to come back to learn  and to experience the excitement of wool crafts.

My handcrafted felt accessories are made using an exciting combination of felting techniques: wet wool feltingneedle felting, inclusions, beading, hand stiching and other fiber art decorating processes. Please visit the B. Felt Boutique where you can treat yourself to laminated wool and silk scarves and shawls  that luxuriously drape over the body, feather-weight wool felt brooches, necklaces and earrings, and wool felt slippers that will comfort both the feet and the eyes.

On my blog, you can learn how to felt wool, read about felting projects, learn how to felt from instructional videos, find information about felting workshops and classes, and see my new fashion creations.

My classes, which include Nuno Felting, Jewelry Making, Hat Making, 3-D Felting and Making Felt Handbags are held at my studio, at the Boston Center for Adult Education, The Worcester Art Museum and at a Boston-based store called Bead + Fiber. I also make short videos of my classes, so if you are not from Boston you can learn to felt virtually.

Please visit my online B. Felt Boutique to buy exciting handmade fashion accessories. I also now have my own unique palette of 72 solid 100% Merino Wool colors and some really fun blends.

Sign up for felting instruction at Bead + Fiber so you can learn these exciting wool felting techniques.

So that you can begin to felt along with me, I have published a video series of special techniques that I use when I am felting.  The first video series is taken from a nuno felting class that I taught recently.  It provides detailed instruction on laying out wool, rolling the wool in bubble wrap, preparing a mixture of olive oil soap, and peeling the mesh fabric off your nuno felt design without ruining your piece.  I hope you find them fun and helpful.
